About Those Highlanders…I have always loved Scotland. In many ways, the country is as much a melting pot as the U.S. But I never imagined this until I set my first story there. The MacKinnon’s Bride wasn’t meant to start a series, but it did. It was, I think, my second book for Avon’s Romantic Treasures line, and my readers embraced it. They loved (and some hated) Page, and from that one story came an entire world of people who not only exist in my heart, but in the hearts of my readers as well. Even as I move on to explore other genres, I always come back to Scotland–because, really, who doesn’t love Highlanders?
Currently, my biggest Highlander series consists of 7 full-length books and 4 novellas, with 1 additional very loosely related story (Angel of Fire). The Highland Bride sand the Guardians of Stone are actually one big series, with many characters who overlap. However, in addition to the Highland Brides and the Guardians of the Stone, most people don’t realize that I have yet another series set in Scotland. The Impostor’s Kiss and The Impostor Prince, both published by Harlequin, have Scottish heroes.
